Food's favourite salt
Alcyon, THE Quebec sea salt
Hand-harvested. Born of the sea. Inspired by family.

Prepared in the Îles de la Madeleine
Our small team prepares your orders directly from the Îles de la Madeleine. Your parcels travel by sea before reaching you, so delivery may take a little longer than usual.
The pure taste of a special place
In the Îles de la Madeleine, we hand-harvest Quebec sea salt, flake by flake. Every grain reflects our land, our way of doing things, and the story of a family that believes deeply in what it creates.
At Alcyon, we craft products that carry that story forward: seasoned salts, salted caramels, chutneys, nigari, and other creations inspired by the sea and by the desire to offer real food, made here, with care.

Inspired by the sea, made for the table

The entire team appreciated the delicacy of the natural salt, with its crystals offering a delightful crunch.

A Sustainable Delight.

Tasting Alcyon, I immediately understood why it becomes an instant essential.

I can’t see why anyone would buy another kind of salt! From now on, it’s Alcyon Sea Salt.

Alcyon Sea Salt is proudly harvested in the Îles-de-la-Madeleine, Quebec, by the Arseneau family. Inspired by their ancestral land and their family fishing boat, "Alcyon," they produce premium sea salt with a focus on sustainability, purity, and culinary enjoyment, reflecting the richness of their family and regional heritage.
Quebec sea salt is naturally rich in essential minerals like magnesium, calcium, and potassium. It supports electrolyte balance, skin health, muscle relaxation, and digestion. Handcrafted using artisanal methods, it retains its natural properties, offering an authentic and beneficial experience.
Yes, sea salt and table salt differ in origin, composition, and uses. Sea salt retains natural minerals, providing a subtle flavor and unique texture perfect for finishing dishes. Table salt, refined and iodized, is mostly pure sodium chloride with a fine texture, ideal for everyday cooking.
Absolutely, sea salt can be used in cooking. Its mineral richness and varied crystals enhance flavors and add unique textures. However, adjust quantities as its crystals are often larger than refined salt, and use sea salt flakes for finishing to preserve its delicate nuances.
